A site that answers before anybody calls
Most people decide before they ever contact you. A lot of them are reading you on a phone in a truck. It has to load fast and say what you do in one screen.
I run Kirk House Media out of Calvert City, and I have lived here my whole life. Marshall County High School in Benton is ten minutes down the road. This is the town on my Google listing, not a market I picked off a map.
The plants on the river are why this town is what it is. Kentucky Dam went up in the forties and the cheap power pulled industry in behind it. Westlake, Wacker, Arkema and Ashland all run operations here.
So a lot of business here gets done with the plants and not with the public. If you weld, haul, scaffold, clean or supply, your customer is often somebody inside a fence. That person has to justify picking you to somebody above them. They look you up first, and what they find is part of that decision.
Then there is Exit 27. The sign reads Kentucky Dam and Calvert City. All summer it drops lake traffic onto that ramp, and most of it turns east toward the dam. Those people have never heard of you. They search from the truck, and the map decides it.
This is a small town and I am not going to oversell it. Almost nobody types Calvert City web design into Google. This page is here because it is home and because it is the town on my business listing.
My Google listing says Calvert City, and email comes straight to me. I built paducahchiefs.com for the Paducah Chiefs, twenty-five minutes up the road. Pull it up on your phone and judge it yourself, or see the full project.
Nothing on this page asks you to take my word for it. The plants are named on the buildings. The exit sign is on I-24. The Chiefs site is one tap away, and email reaches me at hello@kirkhousemedia.com.
Short list on purpose. Two of these matter for most shops here. The third only matters if you sell into the plants.
Most people decide before they ever contact you. A lot of them are reading you on a phone in a truck. It has to load fast and say what you do in one screen.
Word of mouth already handles the people who know you. This is the other half. Your Google listing, your hours, your map pin and a real page for each thing you do.
If you sell into the plants, somebody inside has to pass your name up the chain. Make that easy for them. One page with what you do, what you are qualified for and who to email.
Plenty of businesses here run on a Facebook page alone. It has a real limit. Nobody finds you by searching for what you do. They have to already know you. For some businesses that limit does not matter much, and I would rather say so than sell you a site.
Send me your web address and I will write back with what I would change.
